okay, I finally have time to try and do this shit now.  16 random facts about myself:

1. I was born in D.C. and lived in the Maryland suburbs until I was 8, when we moved to the suburbs of Atlanta.  then I went to school in Athens and now I live in Philadelphia.

2. I don’t have a Southern accent at all.  a lot of people seem to be disappointed by this.

3. I work at a reproductive justice group, which is why I post so much about abortion and feminism and all that.

4. my favorite Nas song is “New York State of Mind”

5. ever since I learned how to read, I’ve been able to fall asleep more easily if I read before bed.  but lately I’ve been having trouble finding books that capture my interest enough for me to want to put away my laptop, as sad as that is.

6. my favorite kinds of food are burritos and crepes.  so basically, I like meat and vegetables wrapped up in something.

7. in seventh grade I played the Munchkin Mayor in The Wizard of Oz.  I have also played a lost boy in two different “productions” of Peter Pan (one was at camp so it doesn’t really count)

8. I have been out of the country three times (not counting like, driving to Canada once): 8-years-old - Israel; 16-years-old - London; 20-years-old - study abroad trip to Hungary, Austria, Italy, France, Switzerland, Slovakia, and Romania.

9. biggest fears: heights, fires, tornado, moths

10. winter is my least favorite season, mostly because socks are not optional

11. I was vegetarian for almost seven years

12. I majored in international affairs and minored in history and don’t use either of those in my job

13. languages I’d like to learn: Spanish, Hebrew, Arabic, Portuguese

14. I want to get a graduate degree in urban studies but I’m not sure what I’ll do after that.

15. greyhounds are the best dogs; my family has a very old one named Merlin.  most greyhounds live to be about 12 and he is 14 and still going relatively strong.

16. I was way more excited to meet Jane Pratt than Michael Stipe
