At least we can all agree that the winter in Cleveland is brutal

I think that time of year when it snows and snows and doesn’t stop for three to four months has come to Cleveland. I have conflicting feelings about this. Right now I still think it’s pretty, but by the end of January my thoughts will probably be focused more on murder-suicides.

and that is why I really don’t want to move to Ohio.

and this is why we move south.  columbus gets its fair share of wintery awfulness for sure, but probably not as nasty as cleveland because of the lake.

having lived elsewhere in the midwest that is not subject to lake-effect snow, I can imagine that Columbus is significantly less depression inducing (i mean, at least for those like me who have snow induced rage) I would def move south if grad school didn’t trap me here indefinately. Trying to stay posi and remember I get to head south for fieldwork in a couple years. Ugh.

I’d love to move back to the south but there aren’t any schools down there with the kind of geography program that I want. best case scenario is that I stay in Philadelphia for grad school because while winter sucks, moving sucks more.
