I generally take it to be a pretty bad sign when the first week of readings assigned for a course doesn’t include anything authored by a woman.

dude. i think this all the time. once in an art history class i was literally maybe 6 weeks into the class before we ever looked at a woman artist and i wrote in capital letters on the top of the page THE FIRST TIME WE TALKED ABOUT A WOMAN IN CLASS!
